Paradox Interactive have unleashed their new multiplayer arena combat game, War of the Vikings, onto PC today. To celebrate the gods and the countless warriors who will fall in battle following this new development, they released a launch trailer to pose a question – what does it mean to be a viking?

The vikings of legend were described as merciless killers, plunderers, vagabonds, and tireless explorers. Paradox’s new game focuses on their combat prowess, naturally, and pits you in the boots of a viking warrior, fighting across a multitude of landscapes.

The War of the Vikings will be coming both digitally and in retail stores in three flavors, the standard edition ($24.99), the Blood Eagle Edition ($34.99), or the mythic Valhalla Edition ($174.99).

While the former two versions are more light on content, the Valhalla Edition comes with a lifetime Viking pass that grants you access to all future DLC, as well as a digital art booklet, a digital strategy guide, the deluxe soundtrack, and the totally new Berserker King digital novel.
