The depressingly realistic war simulator This War of Mine turned 8 years old, and to celebrate will be learning material in Polish schools.

The war simulator/adventure game will be used as materials in Polish schools at the end of 2022, due to the relevance of its themes. Furthermore, the Polish government will provide free copies of the game for students.

Students and teachers will collaborate in a three-part project that will involve playing the game, analyzing its themes, and giving their thoughts about it.

Teachers will learn how to better play games with the help of their students, and students will learn how to analyze the more nuanced aspects of the game’s depiction of war and survival with the help of their teachers.

This War of Mine has been available for Android, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, iOS, Xbox One, Playstation 5, macOS, Microsoft Windows and Linux (via Steam), and Xbox Series X|S.
