This Pirate-Themed MOBA is Pretty Awesome, Only It’s Not Coming to the West

Pirates: Treasure Hunters is a game that is pretty much about everything but scavenging around for buried treasure. The game is a multiplayer online battle arena type experience, and it has been in development by Spanish based developers Virtual Toys. Things are very interesting with the handling of the game’s distribution, however, as the publisher, Netmarble, is based out of South Korea. It seems that because of this, the game is not leaving Korea anytime soon.

Featured above, you’ll get a pretty exhilarating glimpse into the game’s wild online battles, gorgeous soundtrack, hero customization, and various combat abilities. The menus are even in English, and considering that this is a MOBA game at its core, it makes absolutely no sense why this excellent new take on the genre isn’t being brought to the West.

The game has some unique features to it, most notably the ability to usurp and take control of various vehicles like buggies, ships, and so on. Multiple teammates can even ride the same vehicle while delegating out control of the vehicle, and attacking from it as well. There even seems to be loads of hidden goodies randomly placed around the map, such as various weapon fortifications that can be used once they’ve been taken control of.

Some of the other features that Pirates: Treasure Hunters seems to be throwing into the mix are things like vertical progression in the various environments, like being able to actually climb up buildings and even hide out in towers. There’s also the fact that the camera seems to be more zoomed in on the action, as you’ll be one of seven fighting a team of seven other pirate themed heroes.

While there’s no word of a Western release for Pirates: Treasure Hunters, we’ll keep you guys posted.
