The Kerbal Space Program is known for its highly realistic physics, gravity effects, and highly customizable ship building. Despite the ventures of some enterprising fans, it’s rare to see an extremely large space craft launch from a planet and survive the flight, due to the powerful forces of gravity and resistance.
That didn’t stop user Avaslash, who took to figuring out the right prototype space craft that was not only huge but also aerodynamic enough to survive a flight from a planet’s surface into space. The entire process took over two days from the first prototypes to the final build that survived the mission to space.
The ship, dubbed the UKN Obelisk Battle Cruiser, weighs in at over a thousand tons, and it features lots of awesome features like solar panels for energy collection in orbit, and those massive thrusters that provide more than enough lift as seen by the creator’s success.
