Them’s Fightin’ Herds is a New Fighter that is Sure to Make Bronies Squeal with Glee

Lauren Faust, one of the big talents behind Hasbro’s My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, has teamed up with Mane 6 Studios to develop a brand new IP, Them’s Fightin’ Herds.

Them’s Fightin’ Herds is a fighting game that combine a Pokemon-like visual lobby with a very slick, detailed, and gorgeous fighting system.  The world of the game consists entirely of forest fawn and various creatures penned by Lauren Faust, who designed notable characters on MLP: FiM. The goal of the game is to fight, win, and have fun as all players battle across the mystical lands of Foenum.

Some of the special features unique in the fighting, include, physical attacks, magic, a dynamic music system, and a juggle decay bar. As the gameplay video demonstrates, the fighting is fast, fluid, and simple to use. Mastering the game will require constant input and hours of practice.

The game originally started as an MLP fighting game called Fighting Is Magic. A gameplay video went live on the internet and soon enough, Hasbro sent a cease and desist request. The game was canceled, but the core mechanics remained and struck a positive chord with viewers. The foundation of the game was rebuilt, and with the help of Lauren, an entirely new IP was formed.

Them’s Fightin’ Herds is currently seeking public funding on Indiegogo. A stretch goal to the $500,000 mark has indicated the game arriving on consoles, should the campaign make it that far. If you would like to fund the game, find the game on Indiegogo.
