The World Ends With You: The Animation Premieres April 2021

The World Ends With You: The Animation

Square Enix have revealed the Japanese premiere date of The World Ends With You: The Animation, along with a new trailer.

As previously reported the anime is based on the 2007 RPG of the same name, following characters on the edge of life and death. Players follow Neku Sakuraba, a teenage boy who died in unknown circumstances, trying to solve the mystery of his death as he is forced into the Reaper Game.

In the Reaper Game, lost souls eliminate enemies called Noise that are attracted to negative feelings that surround the living. While Noise are the primary opponents of the game’s participants, former game winners who chose to become Reapers also try and stand in their way. A preview of the series was shown in September.
