Spike has confirmed that their self-appointed Video Game Awards are being rebranded to simply VGX, in a press release from their website.
The new ceremony is described as the “next generation” of their Video Game Awards, and it will be a whopping three hours long. You know, so they can cram in more commercials every five seconds. I’m kidding, but let’s move on.
The new event will have extended demos of games, interactive interviews with developers, panels featuring developers, and so on.
The entire show will be streamed on tons of different devices including:
- Xbox 360
- Xbox One
- Playstation 3
- iOS
- Android
Of course, you can also stream it through various apps that are available across different devices, including VGXLive.com, Hulu, Yahoo Screen, the Yahoo Screen app, and the various Viacom properties like Spike, Comedy Central, MTV, MTV2, BET, and lastly, Gametrailers.
The VGX event will start on December 7th at 6 p.m. EST and run through 9 p.m. EST.
