The Unfinished Swan Developers have Revealed What Remains of Edith Finch

The Unfinished Swan developer, Giant Sparrow, has announced What Remains of Edith Finch.

The PlayStation 4 game was revealed during Sony’s PlayStation Experience, which happened this past weekend in Las Vegas. Featured above, you can view the debut trailer for the game, which is described as a collection of short stories that focus on a cursed family, in Washington state, USA.

“Each story offers a chance to experience the life of a different family member with stories ranging from the early 1900s to the present day,” said creative director Ian Dallas on the PlayStation Blog. “The gameplay and tone of the stories are as different as the family members themselves. The only constant is that each story is played from a first-person perspective and each ends with that family member’s death. You’ll follow Edith Finch as she explores the history of her family and tries to figure out why she’s the last Finch left alive.”

The game is probably coming off as a horror experience to you – however Dallas is saying it definitely isn’t. Edith Finch isn’t meant to scare you, but rather immerse you in the “majesty of the universe” and remind you of how “fragile and short your own life is.”

What Remains of Edith Finch is set for a release sometime in 2016.
