In the blackness of space, deep in the cold fringes of galaxies and star systems, there are countless, unfathomable mysteries. Ancient origins, extra-terrestrial races, all ot the cosmos. But perhaps most mysterious is the mystery of existence. The question of the mind, the heart, the soul, the origins of Earth and our solar system, have all conjured up vast theories of where and how we got here. Even deeper still is the mystery of our own, personal universes. Feelings, emotions, the heart, the soul, the mind, are just the start. Morals, values, beliefs, the afterlife, it is a web of possibilities that each person contains within their own realm of life.
And….for the sake of not confusing our reader, I’m going to stop there and introduce the game that puts these themes into simpler terms, The Swapper from Facepalm Games.
The Swapper is a puzzler set deep within the edges of space. As an explorer on a cold, barren world, you are far away from Earth, it’s culture, beliefs, and governments. You are a member of your species on the fringes of space – just you and the universe before you. Players wield a mysterious, experimental device that allows the explorer to clone himself. As he can clone himself, he can also transfer his consciousness to the clone he controls. Everything that is you, your personality, your traits, transfer from one clone to the next. This is required to complete the puzzles of this mysterious sci-fi world.
The Swapper was launched on Steam earlier this year to widespread universal acclaim. As part of the PlayStation’s Store “PLAY” promotion, users who pre-ordered the game were able to pre-download the game before launch, with the title ready for action on launch day. Also, PS Plus members get a discount. In addition, if you buy at least two of the set of games, you can get money back.
The Swapper is a cross-buy title, with one purchase being available on the other subsequent two platforms. The game was developed by Facepalm Games. You can find their Facebook page here for updates.
On August 5th, experience another dimension of time and space.
