Fan is single-handedly remastering classic The Simpsons: Hit & Run game

The Simpsons: Hit & Run

For those of you who grew up in the 90’s, we all remember our fondness for The Simpsons. Back then, it was apparent as to why the show was such a cultural phenomenon and why it would continue to run until the present day.

Along with the success of the television show, it was only natural that video games were to follow. One of the games that most remember fondly would be the 2003 title, The Simpsons: Hit & Run.

Many years later, one man, a Youtuber named El Gato Del Tejado, is working singlehandedly on a fan remaster of the game, and it is coming along incredibly. You can check out the first video he published back in May below:

Several days ago, El Gato updated his audience with another video showing the progress that he has made over the course of development.

One of the things that stood out to many of his viewers was his announcement that, in order to remaster the cutscenes, El Gato taught himself how to draw and animate in the famous Matt Groening art style.

El Gato’s dedication to this project is incredibly admirable, along with these cutscenes, he also shows off the problems with Lisa’s in-game model and his custom new modeling to fix the issues.

I am incredibly excited to see this remaster be completed so I can go through another wacky adventure through Springfield and try to remember the happier days, the days when The Simpsons was worth watching.
