The Resurrection Of The Christ

Showrunners behind The Resurrection Of The Christ have revealed the long-awaited sequel will actually become a trilogy, released in two sequel films.

Led by returning director Mel Gibson, The Resurrection Of The Christ will now be released as Part One and Part Two, two years from now. The films just began filming this summer.

While The Resurrection Of The Christ Part One will release on 2027’s Good Friday, which lands on March 26th, Part Two will premiere 40 days later on Ascension Day, May 6th.

Furthermore, it’s been confirmed Lionsgate will handling distribution of the long-awaited sequel films in theaters.

Not much has been shared on the new sequel aside from tidbits Gibson himself has teased, though it will follow scripture and retell the events during the 24 hours of Jesus’ passion and the three days between his crucifixion and resurrection.
