The Relic: First Guardian delayed to summer

The Relic: First Guardian

Publisher Perp Games and developer Project Cloud Games announced a delay for The Relic: First Guardian, their highly-anticipated action RPG.

The Relic: First Guardian will forgo its previously planned May release for one sometime later this summer. The game will launch first on PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, with a Switch 2 port coming later.

“The Relic: First Guardian is the first game made by the talented Project Cloud Games studio,” said Perp Games CEO Rob Edwards in a press release. “It’s a highly ambitious title that has seen years of hard work poured into it. Given this, the team want to take just a little more time to polish their world and hence announce that we are pushing back the release date from May 26th to the summer of 2026.”

Edwards added, “Perp Games and Project Cloud appreciate your patience as we use this extra time to get every detail right and deliver an experience that meets the high standards of the community. We are excited to show you The Relic: First Guardian when it’s ready, which won’t be long now.”

Here’s a brief blurb on the game:

The upcoming dark fantasy ARPG by Project Cloud Games places you into a world where your mission is to restore fading memories and piece stories back together across a corrupted land. With an emphasis on a reimagined melee-focused combat system to prioritize player rhythm, moving away from traditional level grinding, the focus shifts towards a deeply personal, narrative-driven experience.

In a vast semi-open world inspired in Asian folklore, over 70 bosses stand between you and peace. As you uncover dozens of personal tales, you will weave together the shattered remains of Arsiltus; forging your own path and mastering a playstyle as unique as your journey.
