The Real Train Station that Inspired Persona 4 is Closing

If you’re a fan of Persona 4, whether it be the original or the Golden version on Playstation Vita, you’re familiar with the Yasoinaba Station, the train station that the game’s protagonist arrives on.

This station is based off a real station, namely the Isawa Onsen Station (石和温泉駅) which is located in the Yamanashi Prefecture. You can view the real life station below:

Despite the train station becoming an iconic location from the game’s popularity (and it’s service through World War II), it was announced that the station will be closing in the coming month.

The station was completed in 1936, and it provided transportation for 78 years. In it’s place, a new and modern train station will be constructed – at least you’ll always be able to see it in Persona 4, right?
