Capcom has announced a fun new release for the fans of the original Street Fighter II.
Production company Brave Wave is commissioning an official remaster of both the CPS-1 and CPS-2 versions of the original Street Fighter II arcade game … on vinyl.
Featured above (artwork not final, though), fans will be able to get their hands on remaster, which both feature music extracted directly from the arcade motherboards, while also being approved by the original composer, Yoko Shimomura.
The double album will come with liner notes by Yoko Shimomura and Polygon writer Matt Leone. To be clear, this will also be made available via CD, however, the vinyl release comes in limited quantities, and will be produced on translucent-colored vinyls. The vinyl will also come with sleeves featuring artwork from the Capcom archives.
Pricing was not confirmed at this point. A release is set for some time later this year.
