WIT Studio has announced a new One Piece anime remake titled simply THE ONE PIECE, a new release to celebrate the anime’s 25th anniversary.

Announced at Jump Festa 2024, THE ONE PIECE is a remake for the series beginning at the East Blue arc, with entirely new animation by WIT STUDIO.

Netflix apparently has exclusive rights to distribute the new series, though further details like a release date and main cast weren’t announced.

“In undertaking this new adventure, after much consideration and worry, I have decided to stand up for it after talking it over with everyone,” WIT STUDIO president George Wada said. “Toei Animation has produced over 1,000 episodes of the “ONE PIECE” anime. I am very proud to take the weight of the history of “ONE PIECE” in my heart and draw a new trajectory for the series.”

He added, “I aim to excite people all over the world by carefully depicting Mr. Eiichiro Oda’s depiction of the challenge to dreams, friendship with friends, and hope for the future. In order to deliver this work to every corner of the wide world, we still need the help of all creators.
