It seems like a new entry in the Mortal Kombat series may be just around the corner, that is if a poster revealed on a Reddit post is anything of significance.
The poster clearly shows a human spine, removed from its body, with the words “WHO’S NEXT” emblazoned below the iconic Mortal Kombat logo.
The boss of NetheRealm Studios and co-creator of Mortal Kombat, Ed Boon, has been posting lots of cryptic messages on his personal Twitter account over the past few weeks. Some are a bit more obvious, like picture of a Lincoln MKX with Boon posing the question, “I Wonder what the X stands for?”
For those who haven’t played the latest entry, the Mortal Kombat reboot was the ninth game in the series, making the upcoming game the tenth. All of his tweets are seemingly a countdown to a reveal on June 2nd, although we still don’t really have anything concrete to go off of.
Lastly, Boon even updated his Twitter profile to reflect the black and white dragon logo as his profile image, and he also switched his background image to feature the same phrase, “WHO’S NEXT?”, in the same typeface as well.
We’ll keep you guys posted.
