Epic Games have announced The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience for both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, ahead of the big The Matrix Resurrections premiere this month. But what is it exactly?
The new is now available for Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft Store and PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Store. The free technical demonstration experience was created by staff from the original movie in collaboration with Epic Games and their partners, and showcases “what’s possible when you combine the power of Unreal Engine 5 with Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.”
While details are scant on what this “experience” really is, further details will be revealed at Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards, on December 9th. Perhaps we’ll get to see any even more realistic digital representation of Keanu Reeves than what we saw in Cyberpunk 2077. Or maybe a Keanu Reeves as Neo fighting millions of Agent Smith’s set to Juno Reactor’s Navras theme. That would be pretty badass.
