The Live Action Street Fighter Movie is 20 Years Old Today

If you’re a fan of Street Fighter, you’ve probably seen the original live action movie.

The movie released twenty years ago today, December 23rd, and featured Jean-Claude Van Damme as Colonel Guile, and Raul Julia as the tyrannical warlord, M. Bison.

The majority of the core fighters are also represented like Ryu, Ken, Blanka, Chun-Li, E. Honda, Zangief, and so on. They really tried to have a fun and unique look at each brawler, and how they played into the story.

I’ve always been a fan of the flick, and will continue to watch it, despite it’s shortcomings. However, I don’t know what people really expect, if you’re looking for something close to the series, watch the anime.

Have you seen the Street Fighter movie? What are your thoughts? Do you think Raul Julia was pretty much the entire reason to watch the movie?

Oh, and it’s a Tuesday. Hyuck hyuck hyuck.
