The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has no plans for DLC

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom DLC

In a new interview, producers Hidemaro Fujibayashi and Eiji Aonuma confirmed The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom won’t get downloadable content – for now.

When asked: “Now then, I’d like to hear about your next work… I think there are various possibilities, whether it’s a further sequel or a new stage.”

“There are no plans to release additional content this time, but that’s because I feel like I’ve done everything I can to create games in that world,” Aonuma said to Famitsu. “In the first place, the reason why we chose this time as a sequel to the previous game is because we thought there would be value in experiencing a new kind of play in that place in Hyrule.”

He added, “Then, if such a reason is newly born, we may return to the same world again. Whether it’s a sequel or a new work, I think it will be a completely new way to play, so I’d be happy if you could look forward to it.”

Aonuma clarified that while there is no more content planned at the moment, he doesn’t discard the possibility of revisiting the setting of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Fujibayashi claims that he’s focused on what the “next fun experience” will be for the franchise, but doesn’t know what form it will eventually take.

Eiji Aonuma also said that the development team will continue working to make even more amazing titles, which fans should look forward to. Hidemaro Fujibayashi also stated something similar, expressing his gratitude towards players and a desire to make the next game even more enjoyable.
