The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has managed to make history at Nintendo as it’s now the fastest selling game of all time by the company.

This record announcement (via Guinness World Records) confirms the game sold over 10 million copies in just the first three days after launch. This smashes, pun intended, the previous record by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which had 12.08 million sales in 24 days.

Unsurprisingly with this news, it also means The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the fastest selling Zelda title in the history of the franchise. Currently it’s predecessor, Breath of the Wild, is the best selling total for the franchise, but it might not hold that spot for long at this rate.

Aside from it being a record, what also makes this news compelling is that Tears of the Kingdom is also sold at a higher price than any other of the Zelda titles due to Nintendo raising the price to match other AAA releases at $70. Clearly with these sales, the company is quite happy with the money it’s brought in.
