The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Nintendo have officially announced The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD for Nintendo Switch during today’s Nintendo Direct.

While the game had been previously leaked [12], the announcement and press release (via email) reveals the game will have updated graphics, 60fps, motion controls with joy-cons like the original game; and a new control scheme purely using buttons and the analogue sticks. The sword controls are handled by tilting the right analogue stick while attacking.

The game takes place at the earliest point of the series; featuring the birth of Hyrule as a land far beneath floating islands in the sky. Players must fend off a terrible awakening evil threatening to destroy the world.

You can find the announcement trailer below.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD launches July 16th on Nintendo Switch. Special limited edition Joy-Con controllers styled after the Master Sword and Hylian Shield will also be available at launch.
