Legend of Legacy’s Creators Discuss It, the Game in Action, and the Special Edition Showcased

We’ve previously posted battle videos of The Legend of Legacy, and now we get to see an actual playthrough of the game, thanks to Famitsu. In the video, we get a look at not only battles (and a host of different monsters), but also conversations, and world travel. The team also show off the physical perks that those who purchase the special edition of the game get.

The Legend of Legacy is developed by Masataka Matsuura (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky) and designer Kyoji Koizumi (SaGa series), who recently had an interview with Inside Games.

In the interview, Matsuura says he joined FuRyu because they let him make the game he wanted to make, the result of which is The Legend of Legacy, and that he was happy to be creating a new IP because that was becoming increasingly rare, especially among RPGs. He also revealed that he and Koizumi had had the opportunity to make the game for mobile phones, but had decided not to because the primary focus would then have become monetization, which would have gotten in the way of what they wanted to do.

The Legend of Legacy is due out in Japan on January 22nd, and costs about 5,000-5,500 yen, depending on the store.
