While Korean developer Gravity released Ragnarok Online 2 back in 2013, a group led by the former director of Ragnarok Online formed IMC Games and created Tree of Savior, which many are saying is the true successor to the beloved MMORPG grindfest.
Now, Gravity has licensed out a mobile version of Ragnarok Online (via Chinese developer Xindong), which is a far-cry from the games official sequel, which dropped its sprite-based isometric style for a full-3D style that definitely made the sequel look different, for better or worse.
The mobile game, dubbed simply Ragnarok Mobile, uses 3D character models that are at least somewhat similar to the original sprites, in style. Featured above, you can view a trailer for the newly announced MMORPG.
Ragnarok Mobile will only be available in China, so it remains unclear if a western/English release will happen at some point in the future. For now, you should check out Tree of Savior for your classic Ragnarok Online fix (which is currently free to play, in English, via Steam).
