Founder of Odd Tales Tim Soret has announced The Last Night has been delayed to an unannounced date, along some development woes.
Soret spoke on Twitter on December 31st, wishing everyone a happy new year. He then revealed the game was delayed, and explained the “rise & fall” while developing the game.
“2018, rise & fall:
– We doubled the team.
– We got ourselves a proper lovely studio in the core of London.
– Game budget finally got a *massive* raise.
– We found & developed the code architecture this game needed.
– We developed even more gorgeous hybrid 3D pixel art techniques.
Then…
– We encountered massive business, legal & funding issues we can’t talk about.
– We had to cancel a new trailer of The Last Night at The Game Award [Cold Sweat Emoji]
– We’re currently raising funds, so get in touch: [email protected]”

Soret then expressed gratitude to those he worked with, those “we were supposed to work with”, and his team. “You know who you are… I’m deeply grateful. Thank you so much being so patient, and for staying there also during the hard times.”
Finally, Soret concluded on a happier note with statistics from the year prior; with one million views on the reveal trailer and over six million in total when including uploads to channels of gaming news websites. The game was also added to 186,000 wishlists on Steam.
The game started life as a winner of the 2014 Cyberpunk Game Jam, and began to develop into a full game. Later on it was revealed to be coming to PC and Xbox One.
We’ll keep you guys posted.
