The Last Guardian has officially gotten its release date pushed back a few weeks, until December 6th of this year.

From the announcement over on the PlayStation Blog, the reasoning behind the delay is to “deliver the most polished experience possible” to the fans of the game, who have now waited several years for the release.

They went on to say that the decision do delay was difficult – especially given the game’s reputation at this point – but enough bugs were encountered in the wrap up of development that it warranted the extra development time.

So, rather then the original intended release date of October 25th, The Last Guardian will now be releasing on December 6th in North America, Australia, and Japan, with the European release date coming a day later on December 7th, all on PS4.
