Dammit, they didn’t add Yamazaki nor any of the Orochi team. I’m sorta underwhelmed.

The other orochi members are dead(mature and vice just like haunting people), but there’s still the ?/mysterious/hidden spots in the character selection team for Yamazaki

They best have a color edit option instead of the usual color swaps.

Athena and Mai look great in the character trailer. I swear though they ought to list Arcade mode as a feature as a dig at Crapcom

The roster looks fine and a dedicated story mode is a great addition. With some luck we can get the game by the end of the year.

The graphics look like late PS2/early Xbox 360 era.

Not even remotely, mate. The graphics are a solid high-end PS3 and the framerate seems…well it seems PS3 tier also though I hope it lives up to what the PS4 can pull off.

Anyway, this game looked like early 360 level “King Kong Movie Game” garbage when it first came out but now it’s actually gorgeous. Nothing like GGXrd but definitely better than street fighter.

And I am interested in Tekken but the roster and the characters are honestly better in this title, though I wish we could get a cross-over with Tyranno V Kuma

Not too nuts about 3D fighters so Tekken isn’t particularly interesting to me.

With them using 3D models to such a degree, we should be seeing a ton of costume options, but time will tell whether they become Tekken (100% free – tons of options), Dead or Alive (decent options – hundreds of dollars of DLC) or something else.

The hype meter is off the charts for this one. My only concern is netcode, but we won’t know about that until it launches. It looks like a blast otherwise.

Why did they revert Kensou back to that meat bun-eating simp? He was much better playing Psycho Soldier.

Actually seeing how the gameplay is has really sold me on it, It’s 3D but the physics are great – no SFIV/V moon jumps and has that distinct speed and flow that KOF is known for.

    Really hoping for PC release.

Lol of your talking about the digital foundry video on the launch build that’s nothing like your exaggeration. In most stages and stuff they tried it was stable 60fps just in the one stage with lots of smoke etc going on and when both players activate their special effects it dropped to 59fps for a second then back to 60…wow.

Also, there’s still a few characters to be revealed/seen in action, but I’m interested in seeing what Meitenkun from the China Team is all about…

I hope this character is a female. You never know with SNK…

If you’re thinking Shion, blame the fans for that one. He was meant to be female but fans don’t think tiny breast women exist.

but that ps2 joke has long died now.

I most certainly did think of Shion as I wrote my comment. XD

I think SNK went a bit over-the-top with the ‘androgynous’ atmosphere in KOFXIII (sorry, I’m just not a fan of these designs), which is why I’m glad the Ash saga is over.

KOF has had some pretty good stories for a fighting game though. In my opinion the Orochi saga remains the best one; NESTS Cartel was interesting and created some staples such as K’ and Kula, not to mention having the best bosses (Krizalid, the Zeros and Igniz); and the Ash saga was meh (Mukai was cool though).

The NESTS saga got me into KOF. I know it was a bad time for SNK but some of my favorites from their fighting games were made in that time.

Since Falcoon is gone, I don’t think we’re gonna see a lot metrosexual fighters. Luckily, the worst of his designs stayed in the Maximum Impact games.

Not exactly. We can’t say for sure when this takes place, and Ash creating the time paradox that made him cease to exist could possibly be a reset button for the story. Who knows.
