The King of Fighters XIV Adds New Female Saudi Arabian Fighter and Masmak Fort Stage

SNK has announced new downloadable content for The King of Fighters XIV.

The company will add a new female Saudi Arabia-themed fighter with an accompanying stage set in the historical Masmak fort.

The company Manga Productions held a social media contest back in September within the Middle East to design a character to appear in a fighting game. A few hundred applications were entered from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and more – from these applicants two were chosen for The King of Fighters XIV.

Manga Productions set up a committee with SNK to choose a winner, a group including 10 SNK staff and three staff from Manga Productions.

The above female combatant from Najd (by Mashael Al-Barrak of Saudi Arabia) was selected as a new fighter, alongside the modern day Masmak fort (by Zainab Al-Lawaty of Oman).

A release date for the new fighter and stage wasn’t confirmed, however – we’ll keep you guys posted.

The King of Fighters XIV is currently available for PC and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our review for The King of Fighters XIV here (we highly recommend it!).
