The PC Kickstarter for NightCry, the Clock Tower Spiritual Successor, is Live

Just yesterday we wrote that crowdfunding for a PC version of the point-and-click survival horror, NightCry, the spiritual successor to the Clock Tower series, would shortly commence on Kickstarter.

That kickstarter is now live.

The video for the crowdfunding effort, embedded above, both shows off more of the game and features interviews with the pedigreed development team.

Confirmed to be working on the game so far are Creator Hifumi Kono (Clock Tower, Steel Battalion), Film Director and Co-Creator Takashi Shimizu (Ju-On, The Grudge), Creature Designer Masahiro Ito (Silent Hill), Art Director Kiyoshi Arai (Final Fantasy XII and XIV), Audio Producer Nobuko Toda (Metal Gear Solid, Halo), Composer Michiru Yamane (Castlevania, Suikoden, Skullgirls), Sound Designer Kensuke Matsui (Metal Gear Solid, Peace Walker), and Producer Joseph Chou (Halo Legends, Appleseed).

The PC project needs to achieve $300,000 to succeed, and two stretch goals are already listed, one for $400,000 (“more ways to die”) and $475,00 (“extra playable character”), with more left blank until later.

If you’re curious or interested in backing the project, the Kickstarter page is here.

P.S. Remember that teaser for the NightCry short film directed by Takashi Shimizu? It was released in full when the PC kickstarter began. Enjoy:
