Not long after its reveal this past summer, we’ve learned filming has begun on The Joker 2, the dark comedy adaptation of DC Comics’ iconic villain from Batman.
Director Todd Phillips revealed the first on-set photo of the protagonist, Arthur Fleck as played by Joaquin Phoenix.
The new photo was shared alongside Phillips revealing its “day one” of filming on the hotly anticipated sequel, and he’s right there with “our boy.”

That’s basically all we have to go on now – the cryptic photo of Fleck getting a shave is very possibly (SPOILERS)Â him getting a shave in Arkham Asylum, considering the ending of the first film.
Lady Gaga is also going to star in the upcoming sequel, and it’s rumored she’ll play Harley Quinn, and the sequel is also rumored to be a musical.
We’ll keep you guys posted regarding The Joker 2 – or whatever the film ends up being called.
