Passione have announced they will be hosting a Kickstarter for the English dub of The Island Of Giant Insects anime OVA.

Crunchyroll (who hold the rights to stream the OVA with English subtitles) reports some of the rather unique reward tiers. These include appearing in the OVA in a specially animated scene, or even voicing main character Akira.

Backers can also appear in a live-action short based on the film and manga. The short will be directed by Noboru Iguchi (Flowers of Evil) and will feature animatronic giant ants “which are also campaign [rewards] once production on the short is finished.”

Other backer rewards include production materials from the OVA, such as setting sheets, keyframes, and more.

The Kickstarter will be reportedly “finishing up its survival project on March 15th.” The Kickstarter is not live at this time.

The OVA originally launched in June 2019, produced by studio Passione, and directed by Takeo Takahashi. The original manga debuted in 2014, authored by Yasutaka Fujimi and drawn by REDICE.

Its sequel The Even Bigger Island Of Giant Insects launched in 2019 still runs to this day, along with its spin-off Giant Bug Mountains.
