We’ve learned that the The Idolmaster series general director Akihiro Ishihara has parted ways with publisher Bandai Namco.
He confirmed the news over on the series official blog, saying his last day was January 31st. The former general director thanks his fans for the past decade of support, and said that his leave wasn’t for one particular reason.
In fact, the biggest reason is that he wants to develop his own IP, and despite the negative connotations from leaving a company, said that he feels the Idolmaster series is in good hands and can continue without his guidance.
He stated that he is quite happy to see how much the The Idolmaster has grown in popularity over the years.
