The yuri manga series The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t a Guy at All is getting an anime adaptation.
The series follows Aya Osawa, a flashy and popular gyaru who develops a crush on the cute guy who works at a local record store. The only issue is that he isn’t a guy at all, Mitsuki Koga is tall and has a cool face; combined with her sense of style that usually includes a face mask, she’s mistaken for a handsome guy when Osawa comes by the store.
Rather than correct her, at first Mitsuki is content to let the misunderstanding be. Mitsuki doesn’t like attention, and being in the crosshairs of one of her class’s popular girls just sounds like a headache.
However as the two get closer, will Mitsuki be ok with just being an anonymous “onii-san”? Or will Aya make a move that catch’s Mitsuki off guard?
The series was “announced” (as a surprising amount of anime are) thanks to a post showing a little cardboard promotion on the latest volume of the manga.
