Dear Villagers and developer Modern Storyteller have announced a delay in the release date for their narrative-driven adventure game The Forgotten City.

The game was originally set to launch Winter 2020 for Windows PC (via Steam), and Xbox One. Now the game will launch in Spring 2021. The reason was cited as “this year’s major events,” made all the worse in Australia (where the developer is based). This is no doubt in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 2020 Australian bushfires.

As previously reported, the game is based on the popular Skyrim mod of the same name. The Forgotten City is a narrative-focused adventure game where you are a time traveler, reliving the final days of a cursed Roman city. Break a time loop by figuring out how to save 26 lost souls via stealth, negotiation, bribery, or time manipulation.
