The Executioner and Her Way of Life to Receive Anime Adaptation

The Executioner and Her Way of Life

An anime adaptation of the series The Executioner and Her Way of Life has been announced based off the 2019 light novel series.

The upcoming anime series was announced on the official site for the series along with a new trailer. The series is given the subtitle Virgin Road, “Virgin” is speculatively used to refer to a new way forward given the plot of the series.

A summary of the series can be found below from Yen Press who localizes the light novel.

“The Lost Ones are wanderers who come here from a distant world known as “Japan.” No one knows how or why they leave their homes. The only thing that is certain is that they bring disaster and calamity. The duty of exterminating them without remorse falls to Menou, a young Executioner. When she meets Akari, it seems like just another job…until she discovers it’s impossible to kill this girl! And when Menou begins to search for a way to defeat this immortality, Akari is more than happy to tag along! So begins a journey that will change Menou forever…”

In an inversion of isekai cliches, The Executioner and Her Way of Life follows a woman tasked with exterminating other-worlders. This is seemingly done in an effort to maintain the status quo of her homeworld.

However the appearance of a gregarious and more importantly immortal young girl from Japan changes everything for the executioner Menou.

The trailer can be found below.

The series will star Iori Saeki as the executioner Menou. Saeki is known for her roles as Yashiro Chikama in Adachi and Shimamura, and Vanilla in Nekopara.

Moeka Kishimoto will play other-worlder Akari Takitou. Kishimoto is debuting in her first lead role in a series, her only other lead role being Shino Sakura in Sakura Kakumei ~Hana Saku Otome-tachi~ an Original Net Animation (ONA).

An official premiere date for The Executioner and Her Way of Life has yet to be announced at the time of publishing.
