Taito has announced a new The Detective Is Already Dead game based on the popular series of the same name.

While details are scant, the new game will be directly based on the light novel / manga / anime of the same name, which originally premiered as a light novel under Kadokawa’s MF Bunko J publishing label.

The new The Detective Is Already Dead game will be released for Nintendo Switch, though a release date, an official title, and what type of game it will be weren’t announced.

It’s likely the new game is being prepped to coincide with the second season of The Detective Is Already Dead‘s anime, which is finally premiering in October 2026 five years after the first season was released.
