The Day Before gets delayed again over trademark dispute

The Day Before

Publisher MyTona and developer Fntastic announced zombie MMO The Day Before is delayed again.

The game was previously delayed to a general 2023 release, now it’s pushed back further to November 10th, 2023.

Reasoning behind the game’s delay was due to a legal conundrum where developer Fntastic claims a third party registered a trademark for the game’s name, “The Day Before.”

The game was then pulled from Steam over a complain from this individual, and Fntastic said they weren’t aware of the issue until this month.

Fntastic claims when the game was announced in 2021, the trademark had not been registered. They are currently working with the individual to resolve the dispute.

Lastly, when asked when the next gameplay for the game will be shown off, Fntastic said they have to consult with their lawyers first.

When The Day Before does launch, it’ll be available for Windows PC (via Steam) with Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 ports sometime later.
