The Coffin of Andy and Leyley creator doubles down after doxxing

The Coffin of Andy and Leyley

Nemlei, the creator of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley has doubled down after being allegedly doxxed and threatened by social media users.

Last month, both Nemlei and some fans were allegedly doxxed by internet “antis” for their participation in the game’s fandom. The reason for the drama is the game’s horror themes which include cannibalism and incest, with critics arguing that the game romanticizes these themes.

As a result, Nemlei chose to step back from the social media side of things and let publisher Kit9 Studio handle it. Fans of the series worried that the harassment campaign would ultimately affect the game, but Nemlei responded in the latest Devlog by doubling down.

In a brief Q&A section they had this to say:

Q: When will the next episode release?
A: Sometime in 2024.

Q: How many episodes will there be in total?
A: Four. Two of which are completely different versions of episode 3.

Q: Will you be toning down the story from now on?
A: Haha!! Nope.

Q: Will there be merch?
A: Yes, but later. Right now the priority is to finish the game.

Q: Will there be official translations to other languages?
A: Very likely, but first there needs to be an English version to begin with.

(Emphasis: Ours)

To further drive the point home, the Devlog features official art of Leyley making toy rabbits (conspicuously matching the eye colors of Andy and Leyley) kissing.

The Coffin of Andy and Leyley is available now as an Early Access title on Windows PC (via Steam).
