The Boy and the Heron premieres in American theaters this winter

The Boy and the Heron

The latest film from industry veteran Hayao Miyazaki The Boy and the Heron (How Do You Live?) will premiere in American theaters on December 8.

The anime film was recently picked up by distributor GKIDS who regularly picks up Ghibli movies for home release. GKIDS also does a yearly Ghibli Fest where past films such as Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Whispers of the Heart briefly reappear in theaters.


GKIDS also announced the English dub cast which includes huge names. You can see the list below:

Miyazaki recently canceled his retirement plans (again). Meaning The Boy and the Heron is no longer expected to be the famed director’s final film.
