Nicalis has ported The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth to practically every gaming platform under the sun after its PC, Mac, and Linux release back in 2014.
However, the iOS port of the game has experienced a roadblock – Apple’s content review team, which has blocked the game’s approval due to its violence and themes.
The publisher cited “1 unresolved iOS issue” which Tyrone Rodriguez, producer and developer for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, revealed publicly on Twitter:
Your app contains content or features that depict violence towards, or abuse of, children, which is not allowed on the App.
It’s worth mentioning this is the first actual confirmation for a mobile port of the game. This isn’t the first time Apple has taken a curious stance on video games with potentially controversial themes.
We’ll keep you guys posted.
