The Bible is finally available on Steam

The Bible

Some wonderful news arrived today when yours truly, an Orthodox Catholic man, learned The Bible is finally available on Valve’s massive Steam marketplace.

Now all you believers and unwashed heathens alike have no more excuses on keeping up with your reading – it only took a few decades but the Word is now available on Steam in glorious digital high-definition.

Each book and story can be read in any order, and any passage can be saved and returned to later for study. A recent favorite of mine is Psalms 59:1-17, go look it up. While you’re here, go check out the Jesus Christ simulator, too.

There’s even an original soundtrack for total Biblical immersion, an audiobook presentation, and a trivia section for those really devout who want to test their mettle.

The best part is developer Bible Games saying you can finally “put your computer to use” by opening The Bible and leaving the audio running while minimized.

Lastly, despite The Bible seemingly being an “indie” classified game, it has a whopping 72 Steam achievements – and players are already speedrunning (reading?) the Word.

Before you rush to try getting 100% of the achievements in The Bible, always remember Proverbs 16:18, “Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”

For all my fellow Christians out there – The Bible on Steam is based on the New King James Version (NKJV) of the text, which is in itself an updated version of the classic King James text published back in 1982.

NKJV is generally unpopular with any Christians that actually practice the faith, and it generally was adapted to read more like modern English. There’s a multitude of other versions out there, so it can get confusing.
