This week’s Famitsu (via Games Talk) has confirmed an interesting note regarding the recently revealed Ace Combat 7.
The debut trailer for the game was rendered entirely in real-time, according to producer Kazutoki Kono. This includes aircraft, pilots, and even clouds. The clouds are reportedly floating objects rendered in 3D space, and if you fly towards a cloud, you can even fly through it.
According to Kono, space elevators are a key symbol in Ace Combat 7. The large aircraft that you see in the trailer are fictional, dubbed the “FAS,” whose purpose is to safeguard the space elevators.
It’s worth reiterating that Ace Combat 7 will support PlayStation VR, while Kono wants people to be able to play the game intuitively – he said virtual reality is a good combination for users wanting to just fly through the sky, freely.
Finally, development on Ace Combat 7 is currently 20 percent complete.
Thanks, Gematsu
