If the Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series have taught gamers anything, it’s that no one can do post-apocalyptic settings quite like Russian developers (Or break away former soviet republics, anyway). That being the case, a new developer by the name of MDT has announced a new RPG by the name of The Seed.
Post-apocalyptic RPGs are nothing new, but when you throw them into the confines of a text-based environment that changes things a wee bit.
Harkening back to the text-based adventures of old, like my personal favorite Infocom adventure “The Lurking Horror”, The Seed relies on narrative to scare you rather than graphical flair. Though you do get skills to divvy points into, the game is still essentially a text based title. The FAQ is devoted to answering funding questions unfortunately, so details about the game have to be pulled out of the video rather than a question and answer session.
Funding isn’t being done by Kickstarter due to that site often being incompatible with the needs of developers living in non-western countries. That being said, you can donate money to the project by visiting their homepage.
