Tetsuya Nomura’s Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Armor is So Manly, it Has Four Arms

Following the Mega Man collaboration for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, we’ve finally gotten a look at what Square Enix creator Tetsuya Nomura has in store for the game.

The new designs are straight from the official Monster Hunter English Twitter account, which posted the above image with the two new armor designs. There’s also a mini-Warrior of Light design for your Felyne companion.

The new armor was also shown off at this year’s New York Comic Con, in the form of – you guessed it, a Play-Arts Kai figurine:

This image comes via Square Enix merchandise manager Hidemi Matsuzaka, who tweeted the close up shot of Nomura’s male armor design for a hunter in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

Notice anything interesting? Yep, he seems to have four arms, two of which seem to be extruding out from his shoulders, only to cross/and or go back into his torso? Does he control both sets of arms? To be fair, Monster Hunter has seen its fair share of superfluous armor/weapon designs, although Nomura’s design is borderline superhero type style.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is now available in Japan, while a western release is coming sometime in early 2015.
