Nintendo and Capcom have announced Tetris 99 is getting Monster Hunter Rise content this month, bringing the monster hunting world to the puzzle game.
While Tetris 99 is getting Monster Hunter Rise content, the new content is coming in the form of a timed event on October 8th. The new timed event runs from October 8 at 12 AM Pacific through 11:59 PM Pacific on October 11th.
Here’s a rundown on the new event:
To participate, Nintendo Switch Online members* just need to play the Tetris 99 online mode during the event period. Players will earn event points based on their placement in each match. Once players have accumulated a total of 100 event points, a new theme will unlock, featuring background art, music and Tetrimino designs inspired by MONSTER HUNTER RISE
For many Tetris 99 players, you’ve returned to the field of battle many times, with notches on your belt from several of your previous skirmishes. For others, perhaps you’re considering joining your first hunt for glory. On this joyful occasion of the 25th MAXIMUS CUP, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank our contestants both old and new for making Tetris 99 the thrilling experience it is today. Here’s wishing you all a successful hunt!
Tetris 99 was released three years ago as a free to play puzzle game, a multiplayer take on the long-running Tetris franchise. Monster Hunter Rise is available on Nintendo Switch, and is launching for Windows PC on January 12, 2022. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we highly recommend it!)
