We’ve learned that Terraria: Otherworld has been cancelled.
The news comes via the game’s official forums, developer Re-Logic confirmed development on the game has been halted.
The last we heard about Terraria: Otherworld was back in December of 2015, where it got a sudden delay into 2016.
Development for the sandbox-RPG hybrid has been a bit tumultuous, where original developer Engine Software left the project so Pipework Studio assumed the mantle of development alongside original Terraria developer Re-Logic.
Reportedly, “progress has absolutely been made during that time” but “the massive amount of work that would be remaining to complete along with the extensive time it would take to get that done” has forced the developer to make the decision to pull the plug.
Terraria: Otherworld had been in development since February of 2015, and was planned for Windows PC and Mac.
Re-Logic made a note about the upcoming 1.3.6 update for Terraria, as well as the coming Nintendo Swtch port.
