Terra Battle Console Version Pre-Production and Story Content Nearly Complete

We’ve learned the console version for Terra Battle might not be that far off.

Mistwalker president and CEO Hironobu Sakaguchi noted at an Anime Expo 2017 panel (via DualShockers) that both story and pre-production for the console version of the game are nearly complete.

Sakaguchi also said he hopes when users play Terra Battle 2 they’ll find similar things found in proper console games, and that hopefully this will act as a bridge between Terra Battle and its future console release.

Finally, Sakaguchi said that he hopes fans will get a feeling of a path towards the console release, and that it’s still being developed. He also noted that creating a game for consoles is a massive  task and that because of the amount of resources needed, it’ll take more time.

Terra Battle 2 is launching across PC, iOS, and Android sometime this summer. Another game within the same universe, Terra Wars, is also being developed for PC and mobile devices – you can read more about that here.

If it’s a full on console game and not a mobile port, I’m up for it, it’s been a while since the last console Sakaguchi game.

I had actually forgotten this was even being worked on and assumed it was dead in the water.

With the news that Sakaguchi plans to keep working on Terra games for the foreseeable future, I really hope this proves to be a worthwhile endeavor. Gorgeous art assets aside, the mobile version just looks so skeletal (static character portrait squares are not a visually interesting way to play a turn-based game) and I’d love to see what exactly about this series warrants his passion.

Hironobu also stated that FFIX is the best final fantasy which is correct.

i used to think the same but replaying it recently made me realise how bad it runs, it desperately needs a remaster, and maybe some sort of rebalance to the gameplay lol

did you played the ports? Because Square is notorious for making bad ports of their old games.

Cool I didn’t know about the console version. That will help prevent me from downloading the mobile version.

i didnt play the ports, but when i took a look at them, i noticed they all have built-in cheat modes that break the game’s commodity. i couldnt take it seriously.
