Denmark-based Press Play seem to have their hands in all kinds of projects right now.
Tentacles: Enter the Mind is one of their current offerings, a game that is curiously exclusive to Windows 8 devices (PCs, tablets, and phones, specifically). Featured above, you can view a brief trailer that showcases the game’s completely weird style and presentation, but you’ve got to admit, it looks perfect for touch devices.
The game just got a pretty sizeable update in the form of competitive survival mode. Your goal is quite simply to survive for as long as you can by stocking up on lots of ammo and health as you progress. The level design in competitive survival changes every day, meaning that each daily challenge will be completely different. There’s also the typical bug fixes, enhancements, and a few improvements made to the game.
“We started competing in Tentacles internally. The more we played around with it, the clearer the need for a competitive game mode became. We all like beating our friends, don’t we?” remarked, Ole Teglbjærg, Creative Director of Tentacles.
The second major update is shared tombstones. Now players can pick up their friends’ tombstones. “This was actually always the intention. I like seeing where my friends died inside Tentacles!”
Tentacles: Enter the Mind is available for free on Windows 8 devices.
