Tempur reveals custom “NASA Punk” Starfield cockpit

Starfield

Starfield is getting a super swanky “NASA Punk” cockpit chair, though you won’t be able to buy it, yet.

The totally custom and seemingly one of a kind Starfield cockpit was designed by United Kingdom designer and artist Nicholas Alexander, and was revealed during Gamescom 2023.

The “Dream Chair” was available for Gamescom-goers to sit their captain’s butt down in and get a feeling of piloting a real spaceship, though the cockpit sadly didn’t have Starfield actually playable.

Instead, the installed screen simply displayed videos for Starfield, giving you the feeling an “in-game flight through the universe of Starfield,” which included a small flying portion from the full game.

The chair is on a swivel and can go from side to side, though it can’t pivot inwards like in the Starfield, though it has two joysticks on each side, as well as lots of random dials and buttons to simulate a cockpit.

Here’s a teaser video of the cockpit:

All jokes aside, TEMPUR does make some of the most comfortable memory-foam laden sleeping offerings yours truly has ever tried – one such mattress even helped me recover from a horrific accident years ago.

The Starfield TEMPUR cockpit will be be moved to the Saturn Xperion store in Cologne, Germany after Gamescom. After that, it’ll move to the TEMPUR store in Westfield, Stratford (the UK). Finally, that chair will eventually, someday, be raffled off for charity, though details remain scant.

Starfield is set to launch on September 6th on Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S.
