Bandai Namco has announced they’re shutting down Tekken Revolution in preparation for the release of Tekken 7.

The free-to-play PlayStation 3 game will be shut down effectively March 21st of next year. The company shared the following message with the news of its closure:

“Support for Tekken Revolution on PS3 will cease on March 21, 2017. We thank all fans for your support, and get ready for the next battle!”

Tekken Revolution was originally launched for PlayStation 3 back in 2013. It saw the introduction of new mechanics like the invincible Critical Arts – which are getting expanded upon in Tekken 7. There was also a brand new character, Eliza, which fans helped vote for. She is currently not planned for Tekken 7.

If you’re looking to play the game still, make sure to download it prior to January 21st, when it gets removed from the PlayStation Store. Following this, you’ll be able to play it until the game is completely shut down, on the aforementioned March 21st date.

Tekken 7 is set for a release sometime between Q1 and Q2 of next year – coinciding with the shutdown date of Tekken Revolution. Could we see a release then? We’ll keep you guys posted.
