Tekken 7 is Officially Announced, More Details Coming at San Diego Comic Con

Following the leak earlier this morning, Bandai Namco and series producer Katsuhiro Harada have confirmed Tekken 7’s existence at this year’s EVO tournament.

Surprisingly, the game was not supposed to be revealed at EVO (despite the event making the most sense), but due to the leak, Harada had to confirm it:

“You know, I was surprised just waking up and seeing this news all of a sudden. The first thought that came into my head, it must have been [Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono].”

Harada continued:

“But the greatest surprise is that it wasn’t the title I was planning to announce today. But since it is leaked, I have no choice but to announce that certain title. But I didn’t have anything prepared, like a trailer, so I had to go back to my hotel room right away when I found out to put something together for you guys.”

Harada did tease that he currently has two more unannounced games in development.

While platforms weren’t confirmed, the prior leak did mention “current gen” platforms, leading us to believe it’s coming to Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Lastly, we’re being promised to receive more details at the San Diego Comic-Con fighting game panel, which is on July 25th.

We’ll keep you guys posted.
